Original WWI Era US Army AEF M1917 Helmet Shell - Complete with Liner & Chin Strap Assembly - Snow Pattern Camouflage - North Russia Alaska Expedition - Very Nice Condition
Up for sale is an Original WWI Era USMC AEF M1917 Helmet Shell
.  This helmet has the original paint with the original textured finish.  It is complete with the original Liner, horse hair pad and the leather chin strap. The liner is in very nice condition.  The liner and chin straps are soft and supple.  The rim of the helmet has a number stamped into it "ZB 50",  I assume some production code.  It has an ink stamp, on the underside of the liner.  It is no longer legible.  The rim is fully intact, not separating.  The helmet has the original paint, with a Snow Camouflage Pattern added to it.  No major dents or dings in the helmet. This helmet is used, see photo's for condition.
The snow pattern camouflage was used on the North Russia Alaska Expedition also know as the Polar Bear Expedition.  The camouflage looks like it could be original, the NRA and Russia look to have been added more recently.
This would make a wonderful addition to your WWI Helmet Collection.
