    Description

WWI U.S. M1917 "Brodie" Steel Helmet. First designed and made in Britain by John Brodie around 1915, the United States quickly adopted and purchased about half a million. Soon after, the U.S. started manufacturing their own steel helmets labeled M1917. Just like all new products for the War, each Allied Country added their own variations and improvements. This M1917 Helmet is heat stamped 240 ZD, reason being in case of production issues, or weaknesses, they could recall them for refurbishments. Unfortunately this helmet is missing the liner and most of the leather chin strap but the extra hole in the front is open for discussion. Typical dents and handling marks but the single rivets securing the chin strap brackets are solid. Please view pictures for quality and condition.
