Original WWI Era US Army AEF M1917 Helmet Shell - Complete with Liner & Chin Strap Assembly - Dated 1918 - Very Nice Condition
Up for sale is an Original WWI Era USMC AEF M1917 Helmet Shell
.  This helmet has the orginal paint wth the original textured finish.  It is complete with the original Liner, horse hair pad and the leather chin strap.  The liner is deteriorating.  The liner and chin straps are soft and supple.  The chin strap is a replacement.  The rim of the helmet has a number stamped into it "ZC 205",  I assume some production code.  It is marked: L.C.C. & Co. 1918 on the underside of the liner.  The rim is fully intact, not separating.  The helmet has the original paint, with no major dents or dings in the helmet.  There is a soldier's name etched into the rim of the helmet: "A.L. Wensel".  This helmet is used, see photo's for condition.
This would make a wonderful addition to your WWI Helmet Collection.
