Original WWI Era US Army AEF M1917 Helmet Shell - Complete with Liner & Chin Strap Assembly - Very Nice Condition
Up for auction is an Original WWI Era USMC AEF M1917 Helmet Shell
.  This helmet has the orginal paint wth the original textured finish.  It is complete with the original Liner, horse hair pad, adjustable netting w/pull string and an original leather chin strap.  There is a repair to the chin strap, see photo.  The liner and chin straps are soft and supple.  Some minor cracking.  The rim of the helmet has a number stamped into it "ZF 38",  I assume some production code.  It has no markings or dates on the underside of the liner.  The rim is fully intact, not separating.  The helmet has the original paint, with no major dents or dings in the helmet.  This helmet is used, see photo's for condition.  Hand written name "May" on the inside of the liner.
This would make a wonderful addition to your WWI Helmet Collection.
