WW1 US Artillery Officers French Made Overseas Cap Garrison Hat.
This style of hat was a common style made before the widespread use of the M1917 overseas cap. Made like the French forage cap in use by the French army at the time, but in an olive drab as opposed to the French horizon blue.
Has red piping for artillery, and a beautiful bullion that is starting to fray. The cap itself shows some mothing, but is nonetheless a great example of a French made cap for the American Expeditionary Force in WW1. The inside band is coming unstitched and there is a fray to the fabric lining. See images for details.
