Description
This is a pair of Samuel Wintle standard style bright cut Sterling silver tongs with monogram. The tongs date to c1780-1784 and are marked with a lion passant and the initials S W in an oval
at the top of the arms.
One bowl of the tongs is split on each side from both edges, with the

the bowl and, whilst you are at it, straighten the both arms a bit.
The arched end monogram appears to be an L over J * B.
The tongs are 5" or 12.7 Centimetres in length.
