The side buttons are infantry crossed rifles. There are 2 places in the interior where it is handwritten (interior sweatband and interior crown) "US Jr. CAVALRY" There is the handwritten size of 7-3/8 also in the interior which is a scarce larger size for this time period. Green interior felt along the exterior edges of the crown exhibits wear.
