    Description

    Spectacular historical 1912 August Hummel and L. Chr. Lauer Silver Medal commemorating Luitpold, Prince Regent of Bavaria (1886-1912), AR 33.  The Medal is 33 mm across and weighs about 16.5 g.
    The Medal is scarce as I did not find another in the Web at the time of this posting.
    The Obverse of the Medal features Luitpold, Prince regent Left, with the initials of A. Hummel to the right, and the Inscription L. CHR. LAUER NUERNBERG below. The Obverse depicts a Sarcophagus, crowned; before, grieving lion; below, coat of arms.  On the edge, a punch mark reads SILBER 990.
