Exceptional NOS US WWI M1917 Helmet

Offered for your consideration is a US WWI Helmet in exceptional condition.
If you want the best, this is it; you will never need to up-grade this helmet.
I have had this piece for many years.
The photos tell the story.
The helmet is marked on the inner rim “A239”.
It is un-issued as indicated by the original paper tag still being inside the helmet.
It is the desirable 7 1/8 size.
The leather helmet strap is supple and “bright”.
On one of the photos you will see a red circle.
This identifies not a defect in the oil skin liner but shows where paper has adhered to it.
Evidently, when they stacked the helmets for shipment, they placed paper between the helmets.
This is typical around the liner and I removed some prior to placing it up for bid.
I’m an older collector who has decided it is time to start moving some of the collection.
These items are from a non-smoking, pet free and central air/heat environment.
