This exceptional antique George V sterling silver caster has a plain tapering octagonal panelled shaped form onto a circular collet style foot.
The panelled body of the caster has a planished finish and is ornamented with a simple chased band of semi-circular motifs.
This impressive antique silver caster retains the original push fit cover, embellished with pierced circular motifs in a tiered triangular arrangement in addition to scroll leaf designs to the upper portion of each panel.
The cover is surmounted with a fine and impressive sterling silver panelled finial.
The cover is further encompassed with a border identical to that of the body.
This impressive antique silver caster is a desirable style and was crafted in the Art Deco manner by the collectable silversmith Liberty & Co Ltd.
Condition
This antique caster is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition.
There are natural fire marks to the surface of caster, in keeping with the type and age of the piece
The tooled and pierced decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the caster and part hallmarks to the rim of the cover are all very clear.
Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this example of Liberty & Co silver.
