Description

Antique English Sterling silver tongs. Possibly the work of Benjamin Cartwright II dating to the late 18th century. The tongs measure approximately 6 7/8" long. They weigh 92 grams/3.25 oz. They are heavily tarnished. The bowl on one of the ends has a slight dent. Incised on one side with the image of an arm holding a spear. Hallmarked with B.G in a rectangle, the Sterling lion, the London lion head, and the sovereign head. No date code was observed.
