Antique Child's Metal POUNCE POT with Glass Eyes PUG DOG

Charming little Antique metal PUG DOG Pounce Pot
with original glass eyes
Stands 2" tall.
Head pulls off. This would most likely have belonged to a child.
Also called a sander, pounce pots would be filled with a fine sand or powder and shaken over paper to dry wet ink.
I do not know the metal content. I do not know if it has/had silver plating. There are no marks on base, etc.
Shown in last photo with an OWL pounce pot found at the same estate which I am offering on another auction.
They have been in one collection for many years.
These are not salt or pepper shakers but are often confused as such.
