Description
Hello,I purchased a very early wood tool box 35 years ago at a country auction in Pa, and to be honest never really went through the tools that were in the box, I just added my tools. I am finally organizing my tools and carefully went through the box, and found what appears to be a very interesting World War 1 Trenching pick. It is in wonderful condition. The pick side is marked US as is the handle which I believe is oak or chestnut. There is an identifying marking on one side of the the center collar that appears to be diamond design with some barely visible markings. If anyone can help with the markings, it would be greatly appreciated. The item measure 17 top to bottom, 13 tip to tip and 2.5 wide on the flat side. A very good example for the collector.
Thank you for taking the time to view my sales.
I received an e-mail from a collector who states that this is a WW1 trenching pick.
