Description
This is a beautiful, crown size, extremely low mintage, silver,
"Commemorative"
5 Marks from the Kingdom of Bavaria. A single year only type, it was struck at the Munich mint in 1911 to mark the 90th birthday of the Prince Regent, Luitpold.
In 1886, Luitpold's nephew King Ludwig II was declared mentally incompetent and Luitpold was named as Regent. Ludwig II died a few days later, and his brother Otto assumed the throne. However, Otto was likewise mentally incapable of reigning, and Luitpold continued to serve as regent. Prince Luitpold was a decent and affable prince and became one of Bavaria's most popular rulers.
Weight: 27.77 Gram, 38 Millimeter, .900 Silver. Mintage: 160,000.
As a comparison, the famous 1909-S V.D.B. Lincoln Cent had a mintage of 484,000 pieces.

The Coin:
A choice example, nearly uncirculated, it has a few serious marks on the obverse, it may have been dropped. But the reverse is blast white and fully lustrous. Fully original, I don’t think it has ever been cleaned. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
