1890s FIGURAL BULLDOG WITH HAT PORCELAIN WHISKEY NIPPER BOTTLE WITH CORK STOPPER

Here's an original 120 year old pre prohibition whiskey bottle shaped like a cute little bulldog standing on his back legs wearing a hat....complete with its original cork stopper! No embossing....Hand made in a 2 part mold....Bluish grey glazed ceramic or porcelain ....the opening of the bottle is on top of dog's hat and has the cork stopper....4 1/4"tall...flat unglazed bottom....stands upright on its own. Excellent attic mint condition with no chips, cracks or damage. A shiny clean bottle with no stain. This is a hard to find figural whiskey nipper from the 1890s or early 1900 era. There were all kinds of novelty figural whiskey bottles shaped like pretzels, guns, fruit, animals, books, cigars, etc These bottles were purchased empty from potteries or glassworks by saloon owners. They would be filled with whiskey and given away to favorite customers at Christmas and birthdays.
