Description

Very Rare and beautiful, 1880's "Old Valley" Whiskey enamel lettered, Back Bar / Saloon Whiskey Bottle / Decanter. This fantastic Back Bar / Saloon Bottle measures approx. 10” tall and 3 1/8" in diameter at the base. The Bottle has no mold marks but features beautiful, cut panels on the neck, a pronounced shoulder collar with cut, thumbprint panels below the shoulder and cut panels around the bottom edge of the body. The Lip is of the "Brandy or Wine" type. The Bottle / Decanter features heavy, white enameled lettering that reads simply "Old Valley".
Old Valley Whiskey distributed by the Cork & Bernheimer Co. - a large, New York City liquor wholesaler that marketed a number of Blended Whiskies as well as various brands of Gin, Bourbon and Rye. They were best known for their Hoffman House brand. We believe that “Old Valley” was a Whiskey distilled by Hannis Distilling Co. of Baltimore which also distilled “My Vernon” Whiskey which was exclusively distributed by Cork & Bernheimer. The whiskey was sold in casks and/or bulk jugs and then transferred into beautiful Back Bar Bottles like the one offered here at the Saloon or Bar where it was sold over the Bar.
This rare and wonderful, Back Bar Bottle is in excellent condition. he Bottle is very well preserved with no physical damage to the glass - no chips, no cracks, no wear and no damage or repairs of any kind. The glass is clear and clean with no clouding / white residue on the interior surface of the Bottle. The enamel lettering is exceptionally well preserved with no significant wear of any kind.
The Bottle is unconditionally guaranteed to be original and of the period - ca1880's.
