Description

Here's an early 1830s Keene or New England pontiled 3 mold decanter that was made into a utility bottle. I believe it was a glasshouse "mistake" that the glassblower made into a useful bottle. It is blown into 3 part mold with diamond & fluted pattern....rough pontil scar on bottom....a pair of crude applied rings on neck, one forming the lip of bottle....it has a smooth finished top ring with a very thin "sheared" off ledge inside lip, so it is an altered decanter, but it looks to me like it was done originally when blown?....6"tall....Excellent shiny nice condition with no apparent damage........
